Revision Breast Surgery
Breast implants don’t last forever. Rippling and deflation can be common and require revision breast surgery. Other times, women are unhappy with the shape or size of their implants and wish to make them bigger or smaller. Gravity can also take a toll on implants, much like natural breasts, and some women decide to have their implants lifted. Dr. Nima Naghshineh performs revision breast surgery on many women each year.
Candidates for Revision Breast Surgery
If your breast augmentation did not turn out how you planned, your breasts are uneven, have sagged over the years since your surgery, or you are experiencing deflation or rippling commonly associated with implants, revision breast surgery may be right for you. Patients should be in generally good health, be non-smokers, and have realistic expectations for their revision breast surgery.
Depending on your concerns, your revision breast surgery may be identical to the original breast surgery you had or Dr. Nima Naghshineh may recommend implant free breast augmentation or a breast lift.
Your recovery period depends on the type of revision breast surgery performed. You may be sore for several days and can return to work within a few days. Return to normal activities may take a few weeks.
