A brow lift, commonly known as a forehead lift, reduces horizontal wrinkles and lines on the forehead and between the eyes. It can also raise sagging brows, putting them in a more youthful position. As we age, the facial muscles begin to sag and cause creases in the face.
Candidates for a Brow Lift
If you are bothered by the wrinkle lines that appear on the upper half of your face and feel they make you look too serious or too old, you are a good candidate for a brow lift. Patients should be physically healthy, be a non-smoker, and have realistic goals for surgery.
During a brow lift, an incision is made on the hairline, which allows Dr. Nima to adjust the tissue and muscles beneath the skin, correcting wrinkles and creases. The skin is readjusted and often the scar can be hidden within the hairline.
Patients experience bruising and swelling around their brow area for approximately 10 days. Most patients take about a week off work to recover. Dr. Nima may tape or loosely wrap your forehead to minimize swelling and bruising.
